A Little Bit of Moonlight

The moon has a crooked yellow smile

French crooning airs all the while

I walk with my brothers, three,

My brothers walk with me.

We rinse our soles in the dew,

Blessed as the starry secret’s few,

Alone I tire, but now together we’ve flown

They are my fire. They are my stone.

Love vibrates in my hands.

Lighting up like lunar sands.

I have her voice in my pocket,

Heart in my locket.

A tender word from the night,

From the dark data sea, out of sight.

Given by the stork of the stars,

A little piece of moonlight is ours.

Surely I know this love is no phase,

When she whispers verse not phrase

“A million worlds await” she spoke

And the night of our youth is a smoke

That is worthy

Of poetry.

The Fur Of The Night

( I wrote this with this song by Bohren & The Club of Gore in mind. If interested, play music while reading for full experience and cool band. )

The purple silk sheets bent slowly under her paw. Padded cushions marked the division between the purple of the sea and the darkness of the pillar that rose to the heavens; centered in the sinkhole that occupied the ocean of softness. The cushions in turn fused into luscious black fur that led up a long gracious leg.  A round feline shoulder rolled. Slowly it elevated, carving itself out of the slab of the back cresting like a wave at peak, flaunting for a brief moment the ultimate definition of self before coming back down to erase on the shore of body. As the wave descends from its crest, so too does the purple ocean perturb anew making a sound that is imperceptible, but that rings the senses, heightened by the shift of topography and flow of currents. A new pillar of fur passes the previous. Lifting to repeat the process of wave forming, cresting, and crashing into a new sinkhole in the waters; four of them locking in elegant dance. (more…)

Talking World War III Blues

** Hey all, I turned this school paper half into a blog post, and I thought I’d share it. Enjoy!

He appeared, a little bit out of nowhere. My eyes opened in a start behind my sunglasses as Bob Dylan’s guitar and harmonica suddenly began to play on my shuffled music. I was on a crowded bus, and before me stood a young man. He was tall. His long brown hair was cleared from his grey eyes, and fell onto the brown jacket he wore over his checkered patterned dress shirt. He looked nonchalantly studious, or studiously laid back, I couldn’t tell which. He seemed a bit clumsy, and a bit goofy. The coincidental combination of this odd looking man, and of the corny up beat Bob Dylan guitar and harmonica made me chuckle. Not meanly, but the song just seemed to fit his personality perfectly. Revelation – The Wisdom Of Dreams

The other day the topic of lucid dreaming came up in conversation. I said I had never been able to really control a dream. Every time I noticed the signs of the dream world, the spell was broken. Like seeing a magician’s true trick. If my conscious mind takes over the reverie, then the same laws of the conscious world apply; and the fantastic qualities of the dream start to disappear. I once held a brief interest in trying to learn to lucid dream after conversations triggered by the release of the movie Inception, which did not lead far. However, an emotionally deeper catalyst has rekindled my desire to plunge into psychological exploration, and discover the wonders of the dream realm. (more…)
